Sometimes I see people typing the same set of commands in vim or search strings over and over. This is not only cumbersome, but also error prone. Probably they do not know that vim does have a history function for commands, search strings and even more. Simply press the Up and Down or CTRL-p and CTRL-n keys to scroll through the history while on the command or search prompt.
Up | CTRL-p | scroll backward in the history |
Down | CTRL-n | scroll forward in the history |
