Once, when I picked up a book from the local library, the librarian asked to tell her what I thought about the book when I would bring it back. Well, why not write a few lines about all the books I read so everybody could see what I thought about it? I'm often also happy to have friends recommend a certain book or tell me this and that is not really worth reading. I won't comment about the tons of books I have read so far, but about books I read from now on.

Jack Reacher, the drifter, the wanderer, unbelievably is staying put, more or less. One night, when he intends to make something right where something is wrong, he puts himself in an awkward position with some folks which do not like "no" for an answer. He ends up putting his investigative skills to work in a very complicated serial killing. Not being able to work the case the way he wants to does not make the almost hopeless task any easier.
It's interesting to see the figure of Jack Reacher living something like a steady life (at least as steady as it probably will ever get for him) and how he copes with it. The story of the investigation he gets involved with is quite constructed. The reader might guess early on who might be behind it, but it is uncertain and unclear who is the bad guy till the very end. The reasoning, how Reacher comes to the right conclusion, however, seems a bit sudden and constructed too. Nevertheless, the book provides good entertainment.
