Once, when I picked up a book from the local library, the librarian asked to tell her what I thought about the book when I would bring it back. Well, why not write a few lines about all the books I read so everybody could see what I thought about it? I'm often also happy to have friends recommend a certain book or tell me this and that is not really worth reading. I won't comment about the tons of books I have read so far, but about books I read from now on.

If you read "Bittersweet", the first volume in the True North Series, you know who Jude is. But you do not know much about him; he had a drug problem before, was in jail for three years and helped at the Shipley Farm for a few months, that's it. This book is all about Jude and his ex-girlfriend Sophie. There is a lot to learn about him and how he ended up in jail and how he's coping without drugs. Griffin Shipley and Audrey Kidder have a role in this book too, but this time they are only side characters; their story is told in book one.
Like the first book in the series, it is very well written with well-designed characters; a book more about the people in it than their actions. Refreshing, heart touching, inspiring. The only complaint I have: the detailed sex scenes could either be shorter or fewer. Nevertheless, the third book in the series will certainly find its way into my hands rather sooner than later.
