Once, when I picked up a book from the local library, the librarian asked to tell her what I thought about the book when I would bring it back. Well, why not write a few lines about all the books I read so everybody could see what I thought about it? I'm often also happy to have friends recommend a certain book or tell me this and that is not really worth reading. I won't comment about the tons of books I have read so far, but about books I read from now on.

The book starts out with an armed robbery. And it goes south. One of the team, Spider Shepherd, actually is an undercover cop. But instead of going home after this undercover work is done, Spider finds himself locked up in prison, amidst numerous highly dangerous criminals. It is some time before he finds out what happened. But it is not easy to play his gangster role 24 hours a day without ever being able to lower his guard. And not only that, he is playing a very dangerous game, being a cop locked up together with all those criminals. I somebody found out who he really is...
Spider Shepherd, the main hero, is an extremely tough guy, as somebody in the book says: "He must have balls of steel." Most of the story is well thought through, even though I hope a high-security prison is not exactly run like the one in this book. While throughout most of the book the story remains reasonably believable, the events in the last few dozen pages go a bit over the top. That part feels rushed, not so well structured and somewhat unbelievable, as if the author suddenly had to dig deep into a box of tricks to bring the story to an end. Apart from that, a good book.
