Once, when I picked up a book from the local library, the librarian asked to tell her what I thought about the book when I would bring it back. Well, why not write a few lines about all the books I read so everybody could see what I thought about it? I'm often also happy to have friends recommend a certain book or tell me this and that is not really worth reading. I won't comment about the tons of books I have read so far, but about books I read from now on.

Audrey Kidder is young, good looking, ambitious, good-natured, a terrific chef and frequently messing up the assignments she's given. But why in the world is her employer, a large restaurant group, giving her jobs outside of the kitchen when the one thing she's terrific at is cooking? So aren't her failures at least partially their mistake? Anyway, Audrey is given one last chance, outside of the kitchen again. She's to go to Vermont and source the goods the restaurant group requires. At first, she thinks this will only be for a few days, but...
This is a beautiful love story between two people who are quite different and still a perfect match. It is written in a very refreshing style, contains various interesting characters who will, if I understand correctly, be explored in more depth in the other books of this series. There is not only the romance, though, but it is also cleverly interwoven into the story of an organic farmer's life and challenges in Vermont.
