Once, when I picked up a book from the local library, the librarian asked to tell her what I thought about the book when I would bring it back. Well, why not write a few lines about all the books I read so everybody could see what I thought about it? I'm often also happy to have friends recommend a certain book or tell me this and that is not really worth reading. I won't comment about the tons of books I have read so far, but about books I read from now on.

This second book in the Alice Skye series is better than the first one; a better storyline and less severe fighting and blood. However, without reading the first book, many things in this book could not be understood or appreciated in this one.
All in all the book is easy to read and keeps up a high tension with lots of action. In some situations it's not quite so clear how the heroin can be so powerful, but then it is very obvious even the heroine herself has no idea at all about the extent of her power.
After having had an encounter with the dark side of magic, Alice Skye, a witch by breed and kind of head hunter by profession, needs some time to recover from her injuries. When she finally is allowed to go back to work, Alice is assigned to support a team of human investigators, which is quite unusual. However, the investigation indeed involves non-humans so Alice's knowledge and experience is an asset to the team.
However, not only this investigation is keeping Alice busy. As she recently found out, she is not a pure witch, even though she does not know what she is. Some people, however, not only seem to know but also seem to be afraid of her heritage and would rather see her disappear.
