Once, when I picked up a book from the local library, the librarian asked to tell her what I thought about the book when I would bring it back. Well, why not write a few lines about all the books I read so everybody could see what I thought about it? I'm often also happy to have friends recommend a certain book or tell me this and that is not really worth reading. I won't comment about the tons of books I have read so far, but about books I read from now on.

This is the third book in a whole series. I have not read the previous two books and while reading I got the impression that there are things I don't know and there probably are books before this one. Nevertheless, the book can be read and the story understood on its own.
In the line of duty out of self-defence Detective Harry Bosch killed a serial killer a few years ago. The widow of the serial killer now sues Harry for coldblooded murder of her husband, who she claims has not been the said serial killer. Early on during the trial, another murder victim is found and everything looks as if it is another victim of the same serial killer, but was murdered after Bosh shot the alleged killer. Did Harry really kill the wrong guy or is somebody trying to set him up?
A well written book and many of the characters could well be the culprit. Just like Harry and the rest of the police department, the reader does not know who is the bad guy, nor whether Harry shot the wrong guy or not. This makes the story interesting to the very end.
